There are times in life when you feel you can’t just sit on the sidelines and hope for the best. I have been active for over three years in giving my voice to my local community by supporting local grassroots movements to make Williamson County a little bit better. It was during this time I realized I have a passion to help steer our county toward the ultimate balance of beautiful peaceful rural living, mixed with the current growth and desire to have the best jobs here in our community. I want to help keep that historical small town and country rural living, but also blend in world class restaurants, hotels, and venues. I will help set a fiscally responsible county government to support a robust job market with the best small businesses and family focused companies while, letting the rural small town charm of Williamson County shine through.
- I will use a “responsible growth” approach to growing our community by placing growth where infrastructure can handle it, and ensuring any developments have an infrastructure first priority; this includes roadways, schools, and public safety. I will help keep rural Williamson County rural, and help our municipalities grow with accountability to all of our county citizens.
- I support and will defend the stance of no new taxes. In today’s current economy the last thing a family needs is an increased tax bill on their already dwindling saving and spending capital. No one says this is easy, but nothing worth having ever is. This means being fiscally responsible, spending our tax dollars wisely, and getting the needed contributions from our state and federal partners.
- We have an amazing public school system that needs our support. From having well maintained facilities, to competitive teacher salaries, and proper student to staff ratios.
- Williamson Health, which operates the county-owned Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, TN, is currently exploring a potential sale or strategic partnership to address long-term capital needs and industry challenges. This decision will be crucial for the physical health of our community members, and the fiscal health of the county. I will ensure the decision made will represent what is best for every citizen of Williamson County.
- Transparent governance is non-negotiable. No closed door meetings. All committee meetings recorded, and the public invited. No postings for voted on items in just a single media source. The government is “for the people“, and that cannot happen without transparency.
- In my 25 years of law enforcement I learned the most important thing you can do is listen. The answer is right there, we just have to be able to hear it. I whole heartedly encourage all of us to speak up, and let your voices be heard. Government is not meant to be dictated by those voted into office. It is meant for those serving to steward the needs and wants of the community. I promise to listen, to learn, to use a common sense approach to problem solving, to be transparent, to work hard for all of us, and to fight for what is right for all of the citizens of Williamson County.
